Guardian extends rollout of compostable wrapping to weekly news magazine

News magazine Guardian Weekly will get biodegradable wrapping after plastic-free packaging received a “positive response” from readers of the Guardian newspaper’s Saturday supplements. Subscribers who have the weekly magazine delivered to their door had been receiving it in a polythene wrapping, but it will start to arrive in a compostable wrapping to reduce plastic waste from this week. The Guardian’s Saturday edition became the first UK national newsbrand to use biodegradable wrapping when it was introduced in January.
